Soundcore AeroClip 2 Earbuds Review in Short

The Soundcore AeroClip 2 is a massive overall upgrade to the original Soundcore AeroClip with best-in-class mic quality, great sound quality, IP57 water resistance, and a more stable fit. It’s a flagship-level clip-on earbud for a fraction of the cost of its $300 competitors, making it an excellent dollar value.

Comfort + Fit Stability

Holding Anker Soundcore AeroClip 2 wireless clip on earbud in hand

The Anker Soundcore AeroClip 2 is an open ear, clip on earbud that has very good comfort, especially compared to traditional in-ear earbuds.

Unlike traditional earbuds, these have a “C ring” design that wraps around the ear and sits right outside the ear canal.

Weighing in at just 6.2 grams per earbud, the AeroClip 2 is very lightweight and comfortable.

Compared to the previous-generation Soundcore AeroClip, the AeroClip 2 has more clamping force and is more stable.

The only downside to this is that the AeroClip 2 is slightly less comfortable over longer periods of time, like over 1-2 hours.

Now, the clip-on design is more stable than an open-ear design like the Soundcore AeroFit 2, which isn’t as secure during more vigorous movements or head-tilting like laying on a bench.

I find the AeroClip 2 to be a strong mix between comfort and stability.

Comfort + Fit Stability Score: 9.0 out of 10

Features, IP Rating, Battery Life, and Mic Quality

Features

The Soundcore AeroClip 2 was originally released in September 2026, so it has many modern wireless earbud features:

  • IP57 dust and water resistance rating (dust, sweat, rain, and temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 mins)
  • Built-in microphones for taking calls
  • Bluetooth 6.0
  • LDAC support
  • Multi-point connection
  • “Nap Mode” plays various soothing white noise tracks offline
  • Physical button controls
  • Custom EQ
  • Qi wireless charging case
  • Native apps for both iOS and Android

Buttons and Controls

The Soundcore AeroClip 2 moves back to a physical button on each earbud compared to the touch controls of the original AeroClip.

I’m quite happy they moved back to physical buttons which I find to be vastly superior for a product meant to be used in active scenarios like working out.

Touch controls are too easy to accidentally press, while the physical button ensures more confidence and tactility, especially while moving.

This button controls various functions like play/pause, skip forward, skip backward, and activating “Nap Mode”.

These controls can also be customized further via the Soundcore app.

IP Rating (Dust and Water Resistance)

The Soundcore AeroClip 2 is IP57-rated for dust and water resistance, which is near best-in-class for the open ear category.

This translates to dust, sweat, rain, and temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes.

IP57 is a noticeable step up from the typical “IPX4”, which has no dust resistance and is less water-resistant since the lower “4” only goes up to sweat and light splashes of water.

This is improved from the original AeroClip which is IP55-rated, with the “5” signifying low pressure water streams instead of immersion.

Because of this, the AeroClip 2 is built for pretty much any workout or outdoor conditions, aside from swimming.

Battery Life

  • On a single charge: 8 hours
  • With charging case: 32 hours total
  • Fast Charge: 10 minutes = 4 hours of playback

This battery life is average across the class that tends to be around 7 hours on a single charge and typically 30 hours with the charging case.

This is mostly unchanged from the original AeroClip.

It’s superior to their budget-focused C50i that is 8 hours on a single charge, and 28 hours total with charging case.

Microphone Quality

Soundcore is one of the best brands for microphone quality in general, and the AeroClip 2 is best-in-class in mic quality for the open-ear segment.

The “secret” to the AeroClip 2’s mic quality is borrowing the hardware from the “Guinness World Record Call Quality” Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro flagship earbuds.

The microphone architecture is made up of a 4-mic array, combined with 2 bone conduction VPUs, and all powered by Anker “Thus AI” chip.

This cutting-edge hardware results in elite background noise suppression and voice isolation, especially compared to the more mediocre mic quality in the open-ear category in general.

The bone conduction sensors are especially unique, and results in better vocal isolation in windy and noisier environments versus setups that rely solely on microphones.

If you’re looking for the best mic quality in an open-ear earbud, this is it.

Features, IP Rating, Battery Life, and Mic Quality Score: 10 out of 10

Sound Quality

Anker Soundcore AeroClip 2, AeroClip, and C50i side by side comparison

The Soundcore AeroClip 2 features a 12 mm dual-magnet dynamic driver per earbud.

In addition, the AeroClip 2 also has custom EQ via the Soundcore app, and LDAC hi-res codec support.

These features are actually geared towards audiophiles and somewhat of a surprise to see on clip-on earbuds designed for working out.

From a physical perspective, open-ear clip-on earbuds are at a disadvantage compared to traditional in-ear earbuds that have the benefit of the physical seal.

That said, the sound quality is very good on the AeroClip 2 despite the physical limitations.

Compared to the original AeroClip, I find the AeroClip 2 to be significantly improved in sound quality across the baord.

The stock sound profile of the AeroClip 2 is vocal-forward, full mids, and detailed treble.

The bass is a bit limited due to the physical open-ear design, but it’s still somewhat present.

I found the AeroClip 2 to sound nicely detailed with surprisingly good separation and open soundstage that blends in naturally with the open ear design.

Overall, the AeroClip 2 is one of the best clip-on earbuds I’ve tested for sound quality so far.

Sound Quality Score: 7.9 out of 10

Value

Soundcore AeroClip 2 inside charging case

The Soundcore AeroClip 2 retails for $169.99 USD, and is still new so there’s no discounts yet.

Due to this, the older AeroClip has been discounted down to around $129.99.

Also, there’s a newer budget clip-on model, the Soundcore C50i, which can be found for under $50 on sale.

Honestly, for a $40 price difference, I think the AeroClip 2 is a massive upgrade to the original AeroClip, making it the better dollar value.

The AeroClip 2 goes toe to toe with expensive $300 flagship clip on earbuds like the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds 2nd Gen.

Value Score: 9.0 out of 10

Is the Soundcore AeroClip 2 Worth it?

Yes, the Anker Soundcore AeroClip 2 is a massive upgrade to the original AeroClip and a legit flagship-contender clip-on earbud for a relatively cheaper price than $300 competitors.

For one, it has best-in-class microphone quality thanks to the “Guinness World Record Call Quality” hardware it borrows from Soundcore’s flagship earbuds.

In addition, it has great sound quality, Bluetooth 6.0, IP57 water resistance, and a comfortable yet stable fit.

This is a feature-packed and enjoyable product to use daily, and one of my personal favorites that I plan to continue using in my personal rotation.
