The JLab JBuds Lux ANC is one of the best overall packages for under $60 on sale, due to its comfort, strong build quality, active noise cancelling, and decent sound quality. Competes with JBL Live 770NC, JBL Tune 720BT, JBL Tune 770NC, Anker Soundcore Q20i, Sony WH-CH720N, Anker Soundcore Life Q30, and Soundcore Space One.

Full Sound Quality Test
This is my first JLab product that I’ve tested, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going into it. All I know is that the brand has gained popularity in recent years for their earbuds and now headphones.
I’ve reviewed over 60+ pairs of wireless headphones and earbuds at this point, so the JLab JBuds Lux ANC certainly has its work cut out for it.
Being one of the cheaper headphones I’ve tested for around $60, I was actually fairly impressed upon my initial listening.
The sound profile is actually a bit more balanced than most budget headphones, which tend to be overly V-shaped in their frequency response.
There is a slight bump up in the bass and treble, with the mids being slightly pulled back, but it’s not too offensive.
The bass isn’t the most satisfying like the JBL headphones in this price range, but it’s also not as loose and exaggerated like many of the Soundcore headphones.
I would say the strength is in the vocals being fairly forward with good detail.
Aside from the tuning, the actual sound quality from the 40mm drivers seemed to be punching slightly above its pricetag.
I would say where the JLab JBuds Lux ANC lands is firmly above the sub-$50 headphones like the Soundcore Q20i and TOZO HT3, and competitive with the sub-$100 headphones like the Sony WH-CH720N and JBL Tune 770NC.

The JLab JBuds Lux ANC is towards the lighter side for being a full-sized, over-ear headphone design.
Putting them on, the first thing I notice is how the “Cloud Foam” earpad cushions are nice and plush.
They do have a bit of firm clamping force from the factory, but those earpad cushions help offset it nicely.
The one flaw in the comfort for me is that the headband cushion is not nearly as plush as the earpads, so I do feel a bit of a hotspot with top-of-head pressure there.
Also, the interior earcup space is a bit tight and shallow in there, so my ears do press against the fabric inside.
Overall, I find the JLab JBuds Lux ANC to be above average for comfort, but not quite perfect due to the points above.

In my testing, I found this rating to be accurate.
40 hours with ANC on and 70 hours with ANC off would be considered above average for the class, which averages around 30 hours with ANC on.
There is a fast-charge feature that adds 4 hours with just 10 minutes of charging time.
Build Quality
The build quality of the JLab JBuds Lux ANC is definitely above average for its budget price under $80, and especially under $60 on sale.
The headphones feature metal sliders in the headband, and overall just feel like a more expensive headphone than its price.
The “Cloud Foam” earpad cushions feel particularly premium.
I’d say the JLab JBuds Lux ANC has build quality and materials that feels more like a $100 to $150 headphone.
Practicality
The JLab JBuds Lux ANC makes for a great daily driver due to its comfort, build quality, battery life, and having active noise cancelling.
These headphones also fold to save space when traveling and putting them into a backpack or bag.
There is better noise cancelling performance out there, but at this price, it’s hard to complain too much.

Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) Performance
The JLab JBuds Lux ANC does come with active noise cancelling and transparency mode called “Be Aware”.
There’s actually not that many headphones that include active noise cancelling technology for under $60, so I think that adds to the JLab’s appeal.
Now, I will admit that the noise cancelling performance is nothing impressive, and certainly nowhere near the $400+ flagships like AirPods Max 2 or Sony WH-1000XM6.
But at this price point, having any active noise cancelling at all makes a huge difference compared to just passive noise isolation.
Overall, the ANC performance is slightly below average, but it does measurably cut down on outside noise, which is much better than nothing.

Value
The JLab Jbuds Lux ANC retails at $79.98 USD, but is currently around $59.99 market price brand new.
It’s honestly pretty rare to see a strong combination of comfort, build quality, active noise cancelling, and decent sound quality at under $60.
There are a couple contenders like the Soundcore Q20i and TOZO HT3, both available under $40, that are competitive overall packages.
But the JBuds Lux ANC has both of them beat when it comes to sound quality, although they have better noise cancelling.
At around the same price, the Soundcore Q30 does give the JLab a run for its money.

Is the JLab JBuds Lux ANC Headphones Worth it?
Frequently on sale for under $60, the JBuds JLab Lux ANC is an easy recommendation as an overall package.
There isn’t many headphones at this price range that offer this combination of comfort, build quality, active noise cancelling, and sound quality.
There’s only really a few alternatives at the same price or cheaper that are worth checking out like the Soundcore Q30, Soundcore Q20i, and TOZO HT3.
Otherwise, you’ll likely need to spend closer to $100 to compete like with the Sony WH-CH720N or JBL Tune 770NC.
