In this article, I’m going to share my HONEST Status Pro X review for those who are wondering whether they are WORTH IT. I’ll also be comparing the Status Pro X vs AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Bowers & Wilkins Pi8, SoundPEATS H3, Technics AZ100, Sony WF-1000XM5, Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2nd Gen, and more!
I’m going to do my best to share whether these wireless earbuds are worth it, and ideally who these are perfect for. I’ve owned these for a while now and have quite a few thoughts.
I’ll be sharing my critical opinion with 10 years of experience as a professional music producer, audio engineer, and tech journalist.

Status Pro X Review in Short
The Status Pro X is one of the best all-arounders in the wireless earbud category, due to its audiophile-level sound quality, and surprisingly great noise cancelling performance and mic quality. All of this for a pretty competitive price and solid value. Competes in the wireless noise cancelling earbuds class with the likes of Apple AirPods Pro 3rd Generation, Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Sony WF-1000XM5, Technics EAH-AZ100, SoundPEATS H3, Denon PerL Pro, Noble FoKus Rex 5, Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen, and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4.

Comfort + Features
Comfort
The Status Pro X comes with 3 pairs of silicone eartips.
Personally, I prefer memory foam eartips, but the Pro X fits well enough.
I think there are more ergonomic fits in the market, but I do think the stock eartips create a fairly good physical seal and are relatively secure enough to work out in.
The eartips feel quite “full” inside the ear canal when wearing, and I slightly prefer eartips that are less noticeable.
Luckily, there are several aftermarket eartips that can improve things, such as these ones I tested from SpinFit (note that this entire review is using the stock eartips):
The earbuds that I find slightly more comfortable-fitting include:
- Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd and 1st Gen
- Apple AirPods Pro 3
- Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
- Google Pixel Buds Pro 2
Features
The Status Pro X was originally released in September 2025, so it has many modern wireless earbud features:
- IP55 water resistance rating (heavy sweat, dust, and rain)
- LDAC high-res codec support
- Built-in microphones for taking calls
- USB-C and Qi Wireless charging case
- Bluetooth 5.3
- Multi-point connection
- Adaptive Noise Cancelling
- Transparency Mode
- iOS and Android app support
The most notable feature for audiophiles is the LDAC high-res codec support, which is rather rare for this class of wireless earbuds.
Also, it’s nice that there is a native app offered for both iOS and Android users alike.
Microphone Quality
The microphone quality on the Status Pro X is fairly decent, but just below the elite options for the class.
The Pro X features AI-enhanced “VoiceLoom” technology to help achieve better call quality.
Compared to the similar “audiophile” brands such as Technics, Bowers & Wilkins, and Denon to name a few, I think the Pro X has the best microphone out of all of them. It probably helps that it’s the newest release of the lot.
That said, I think the best mic quality is still reserved for the mainstream brands of AirPods Pro 3, Sony WF-1000XM5, and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen.
Still, pretty impressive considering this is an “audiophile” product first and foremost.
Battery Life
- With ANC on: 5-6 hours of battery life on a single charge / 24 hours total with charging case
- With ANC off: 8 hours on a single charge / 32 hours total with charging case
- Fast Charge: 15 minutes = 2 hours of playback
This battery life is average for the class, as most competitors are 6-8 hours on a single charge, and 24-30 hours with the charging case.
Comfort + Features Score: 9.0 out of 10
Status Pro X Noise Cancelling Performance
One of the big features marketed on the Status Pro X is “52dB of ANC”.
I can attest that the noise cancelling performance of the Pro X is clearly above average for the class.
Similar to mic quality, I find the Status Pro X’s noise cancelling to be a cut above the direct audiophile competition from the likes of Bowers & Wilkins and Denon, although Technics is pretty close.
If you’re seeking pure strength at blocking outside noise, there is slightly better options like the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen, AirPods Pro 3, and Sony WF-1000XM5.
Noise Cancelling Score: 8.5 out of 10
Sound Quality
Reading up to this point, the Status Pro X has performed above expectations for daily-use practicality, thanks to above average mic quality and noise cancelling performance.
This is impressive, considering that this really more of an “audiophile” product compared to the popular brands.
Now if the sound quality could just deliver, then we’re looking at a serious contender in the wireless earbud space…
Let’s start with the high-res codec LDAC support which tells me these are aimed at the audiophile crowd to begin with.
To conduct this test, I used my Questyle QCC Dongle Pro to unlock LDAC support:

If you’re an iPhone user, or if your phone doesn’t support aptX codecs, then I highly recommend you pick up the dongle above which will cover both LDAC and aptX Adaptive high-res codecs. It’s the only one of its kind that supports both, to my knowledge.
Having tested over 20+ of these wireless noise cancelling earbuds at this point, it’s rare for anything to truly stand out, especially upon first listening impression.
That isn’t the case with the Status Pro X, which immediately jumped up to “audiophile” territory for the class.
On paper, the Status Pro X has a “Triple-Driver Acoustic System”, and I think this translates wonderfully into a very clear sound with a nice open soundstage to pair with it.
Across the frequency spectrum, I’m hearing everything from a deep tactile bass, to detailed yet smooth treble.
The stock sound profile reminds me most of the reference-like Denon PerL Pro, with perhaps a touch of Technics AZ100’s excitement.
The bass is very clean, tactile, and focused. One of the most satisfying and tasteful bass responses in the class.
I put the Status Pro X’s sound quality in small company amongst the Technics AZ100, Denon PerL Pro, Noble FoKus Rex 5, Bowers & Wilkins Pi8, and SoundPEATS H3.
This is in clearly in a level above the popular AirPods Pro 3, Sony WF-1000XM5, Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4, and Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
Sound Quality Score: 8.6 out of 10
Value
The Status Pro X retails at $299 USD, but is on sale for around $239 market price currently.
The very competitive Technics EAH-AZ100 and Denon PerL Pro is actually around $249 on sale, which is also in line with the mainstream brands like AirPods Pro 3, Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen, and Sony WF-1000XM5.
To put things into a better perspective, the Status Pro X competes more directly with fellow audiophile brands like the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 at $400, Noble FoKus Rex 5 at $449, and Devialet Gemini II at $499.
When you factor in the Status Pro X’s audiophile level of sound quality, coupled with very useful daily practicality thanks to its very good mic quality and noise cancelling performance, this is one of the best values in the class as an all-arounder.
One value standout here is the SoundPEATS H3 at under $130 retail, but I still do prefer the Status Pro X as a whole.

Is the Status Pro X Worth it?
At around the same price as the more mainstream wireless earbuds, I find the Status Pro X to be especially appealing due to having audiophile sound quality, but also the daily usage practicality of very good noise cancelling and mic quality.
The LDAC-powered sound quality is up there with all of the elite options for the class, but what surprised me even more is having above average noise cancelling and mic quality, making this a very complete all-arounder.
Where those mainstream brands do have a small advantage, however, is going to be in having slightly better noise cancelling performance and microphone quality.
If those factors are more important to you than sound quality, then you may want to consider them instead.
But for the audiophiles out there looking for sound quality mixed with everyday practicality, you surely won’t be disappointed.
