In this article, I’m going to share my HONEST OneOdio Studio Max 1 review for those who are wondering whether they are WORTH IT as one of the best wireless DJ headphones.

I’m going to do my best to share whether these headphones are worth it, and ideally who these headphones are for.

I’ll be sharing my critical opinion with 10 years of experience as a professional music producer, audio engineer, and tech journalist.

OneOdio Studio Max 1 Sound Quality

Listening right out of the box, the Studio Max 1 has a very consumer-friendly sound profile that is bass-forward, but still has vocals cutting nicely through the mix.

I was surprised by how good the separation and layering were for a headphone in this price range, and it makes sense to me that these are aimed at DJs to hear the mix clearly.

The Studio Max 1 does support LDAC and is Hi-Res certified, and the sound quality backs up that claim.

Coming back to that sound profile, the bass is very prominent and garners a lot of the main focus, but not so much that it drowns out the vocals like in other headphones.

What I found most impressive is that the Studio Max 1 didn’t just excel for digital music like Pop and Hip Hop, but it also handled Rock and Metal quite well.

Overall, this is one of the best sounding wireless headphones I’ve tested under $200.

I just wish they had a smartphone app with custom EQ to tweak the sound further. Perhaps in the future.

Despite the weight, I actually find the Studio Max 1 to be a fairly comfortable headphone that can be worn for hours.

The plush headband cushioning does a great job of distributing the weight, and I feel little top of head pressure.

The earpad cushions are also supportive, along with the clamping force not being overly strong.

Overall, I can see why these are made for DJs, and thus they are made to be worn for hours at a time.

The OneOdio Studio Max 1 was originally released in early 2025, and have many modern features:

It’s important to note that the Studio Max 1 does not have any active noise cancelling feature, as that is not the purpose of these headphones. OneOdio has other noise cancelling headphones instead.

Build Quality

For a sub-$200 wireless headphone, the build quality is very good on the Studio Max 1.

For starters, there is a metal headband that reminds me of the Audio-Technica ATH M50x design.

Also the material on the headband and earpads feels more premium than most budget headphones.

There is a fair amount of plastic, but the same is true of any sub-$200 headphone, and some $450 headphones even.

OneOdio Studio Max 1 Battery Life

One of the most impressive aspects of the Studio Max 1 is its 120 hour battery life, which is longer than any headphone we have tested to date.

Granted, we’ve mostly tested noise cancelling headphones, but even the non-ANC headphones rarely even reach 70-80 hours of battery life, not to mention 120.

Skullcandy Hesh Evo buttons and controls

Retailing at $169.99, I would gladly pay full price for the Studio Max 1, as it is simply one of the most innovative wireless headphones we’ve tested.

The low-latency receiver is not a gimmick, it’s like using a pair of wired headphones without the cable.

This is an absolute blessing for DJs, music producers, and musicians such as myself.

The Studio Max 1 is a very practical and useful wireless headphone that I look forward to having in my home office and studio moving forward.

Add in some of the best sound quality I’ve heard in a wireless headphone under $200, and this is a serious package overall.

The lack of noise cancelling may be a dealbreaker for some, but it’s not made for that either.

Is the OneOdio Studio Max 1 Worth it?

Despite having tested over 40+ pairs of wireless headphones to this date, I haven’t come across a headphone that has this little latency over wireless before.

That feature alone makes these a useful tool for me in my home office and studio.

I also do love the very fun sound profile and sound quality for being a relatively budget headphone under $200.

I would absolutely buy the Studio Max 1 with my own money and keep a pair around as a workhorse.
